Unlike traditional online PDF services, ZestPDF operates primarily on a client-side architecture. This means your files are processed entirely within your web browser using local Javascript, WebAssembly, and HTML5 technologies.

  • Zero File Uploads: For all local tools, your documents, images, and sensitive files are never uploaded, sent, or transmitted to our servers or any third-party systems.
  • Secure Server-Side Tasks (If Applicable): For any tools that require server-side execution, all user files are completely secure, encrypted during transit and at rest, and are automatically deleted permanently from our servers within 1 hour of processing.
  • Absolute Confidentiality: Because processing occurs locally or is deleted within 1 hour, we have no permanent access to your documents. We cannot see, read, copy, or distribute your content.
  • Eliminated Data Leak Risks: Our local-first and automatic deletion systems completely eliminate the risk of server-side data breaches, unauthorized access, or file leaks. Your files remain secure.

    To maintain, secure, and optimize our platform, we collect minimal and anonymous information as detailed below:

  • Usage & Behavioral Data: We use Google Analytics to monitor aggregated, non-identifiable traffic patterns. This includes metrics such as tool usage counts, visits per page, and general navigation flow to help us improve user experience.
  • Technical Logs: Our web servers automatically log basic requests. These logs contain standard information such as IP addresses (anonymized where possible), browser types, referring/exit pages, and time stamps. We use this data solely for security audit logs and debugging.
